Bintai Kinden secures EPCC contract for energy imports to Malaysia

Bintai Kinden Corporation Bhd (Bintai Kinden) has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract for a power import project developed by Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd in Sarawak.

A joint-venture agreement (JVA) has been signed between Kejuruteraan Bintai Kindenko Sdn Bhd (KBK), a subsidiary of Bintai Kinden, and Kejuruteraan Gemilang Jaya Sdn Bhd (KGJ) to jointly investigate and pursue the EPCC contract. The project will involve the construction of a new high voltage substation at the Petronas LNG Complex (PLC), which will connect directly to Sarawak Energy Bhd’s (SEB) 275 kV substation. The substation will provide PLC with 90 MW of electricity via its existing 33 kV network. The project’s electrical work will be handled by KBK, while civil work on the substation site, structural construction work, and building mechanical and engineering work will be handled by KGJ.
