MoP invests Rs 356.29 billion in infrastructure development till November 2021 during FY 2021-22

The Ministry of Power (MoP) has invested Rs 356.29 billion in infrastructure development till the end of November 2021 during the current financial year (FY) 2021-22.

During 2020-21, power sector central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) incurred a capex of Rs 221.27billion till November 2020. However, during 2021-22, the CPSEs of MoP have so far invested a capex of Rs 321.37 billion, which is 63.4 per cent of the annual capex target of 506.91 billion for the current financial year. An additional amount of Rs 34.91 billion has been invested in infrastructure through development schemes of the ministry during 2021-22 (till November 2021). The MoP has spent Rs 15.94 billion in Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Rs 10.07 billion in DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and Rs 8.90 billion in transmission development schemes for north eastern region. In absolute terms, the capex has shown a growth of 45 per cent over last year.
