Sterlite Power to expand transmission projects in Brazil for Rs 2.50 billion

Sterlite Power Transmission Limited’s Brazilian arm Sterlite Power Brasil plans to expand projects in two regions of Brazil with a capital expenditure of Rs 2.50 billion.

Sterlite Power Brasil is preparing to expand transmission and substation projects in the states of Minas Gerais and Paraiba. In the state of Minas Gerais, the Solaris Projects involves the construction of 205.2 km of transmission lines and a substation in Jaíba (230 kV), in addition to the Janaúba 3 substation (500 kV). While in the state of Paraiba, the Borborema Projects consist of transmission line, between the substations of Campina Grande III and João Pessoa II with an approximate length of 123 km. The requests for an authorising resolution for the construction of an additional scope came from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).
