ITC commissions first offsite solar plant of 14.9 MW in Tamil Nadu

ITC Limited has commissioned its first offsite solar plant of capacity 14.9 MW in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu.

The solar plant is built at an investment of Rs 760 million and will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The plant has already helped ITC to achieve meeting 90 per cent of its electricity requirement from renewable sources in Tamil Nadu. The plant is built with the latest solar technology and complies with all national and international standards on design and safety. The unit will generate over 22 MUs of renewable energy annually for ITC’s hotels, food manufacturing plants, paper manufacturing facility, and printing and packaging factories in Tamil Nadu.
