PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) and PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI) have signed a head of agreement study to develop geothermal power plant projects across Indonesia.
Over the next 24 months, both firms will evaluate and undertake additional studies on development scheme choices for each geothermal project, as well as assess the economic feasibility of the combined business model. Furthermore, the partnership will also establish timelines and objectives for each project, starting with exploration to operation. This step is part of Medco Power’s commitment to transition its portfolio to new and renewable energy. Indonesia has one of the largest geothermal reserves in the world and the government is exploring this potential to meet the country’s sustainable energy requirements.
