Power CPSEs record 47 per cent growth in capex during April-December 2021

The central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) under Ministry of Power (MoP) have incurred capital expenditure (capex) of Rs 403.95 billion during April-December 2021, which is 47 per cent higher as compared to capex incurred during April-December 2020.

The CPSEs have also collectively met 80 per cent of the capex target of FY 2021-22, i.e. Rs 506.91 billion. The top performers among the power sector CPSEs include Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (90.6 per cent), SJVN Limited (90.19 per cent), NTPC Limited (86.5 per cent) and THDC Limited (85.38 per cent). The MoP has laid a strong emphasis on accelerating the pace the capex of the power sector projects. Regular monitoring and reviews are held to resolve issues hindering the implementation of the projects.
