Adani Power files contempt plea of over Rs 67.38 billion Rajasthan discoms dues

Adani Power Limited has filed a contempt petition in the Supreme Court against three Rajasthan discoms for failing to comply with the apex court’s order to pay Rs 67.38 billion in compensatory tariff and interest for power supplied since 2013 by Adani Power.

The amount claimed by Adani Power includes Rs 14.69 billion interest cost and Rs 23.17 billion legal conservatorship charges. Adani Power and the Rajasthan discoms have been in a dispute on the applicability of the provision in their power purchase agreement signed in 2010 for supplying power from the Kawai thermal plant in Rajasthan.
