Project Eight Renewable Power (Ayana Renewable Power) and SolarOne Energy (Fortum)have won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for 1,200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects (Tranche-X) in Karnataka.
Ayana was awarded a capacity of 300 MW at a tariff of Rs 2.36 per kWh. Out of the quoted 400 MW, Fortum won 300 MW of capacity at a tariff of Rs 2.37 per kWh. According to SECI, this tender would award a maximum of 600 MW of solar capacity to ISTS substations in Gadag and Koppal districts.In January 2022, SECI floated a tender for the development of 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected wind generation plants in India (Tranche XIII). The scope of work comprises identifying land, installation, and ownership of the project, obtaining connectivity, long-term access, and necessary approval and interconnection with the ISTS network to supply power to SECI.
