PGEC to investigate offshore wind power potential in the Philippines

PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC), will conduct feasibility studies for the development of approximately 4 GW of offshore wind power capacity off the coast of the Philippines.

The Department of Energy (DoE) has granted the company permission to perform a grid impact analysis for the renewable energy (RE) projects.Feasibility studies include a 2 GW project in Ilocos Norte, a 1 GW project off Occidental Mindoro and Batangas as well as a 500 MW-1 GW project in Iloilo and Guimaras.During 2022, PGEC plans to extend existing service contract blocks, such as Tarlac and Nabas, as well as additional territories in Central Luzon and Central Visayas.
