ReNew Power commissions wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat

ReNew Power has set up the first wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat at the Chlor-Alkali unit of Grasim Industries in Vilayat, Bharuch.

In the first phase of the project,17.6 MW commercial-scale wind-solarcapacity has been commissioned. It is expected to generate around 80 MUs of renewable energy (RE) every year, mitigating about 75,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. An additional 16.68 MWwill be commissioned in the next financial year, as part of the second phase. The project is being developed by ReNew Green Solutions (RGS), an arm of ReNew Power.Once both phases are commissioned with a combined capacity of 34.28 MW, the project is expected to generate a total of 160 MUs of RE annually, mitigating 150,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Both phases together have a cumulative investment of $51 million through an equity partnership.
