One out of the three power generation units of Parli thermal power plant (TPP)of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (Mahagenco) has been shut due to the shortage of coal.
Each of the three units at the station can generate 250 MW of power every day. The plant usually requires 30,000 tonnes of coal to run all the three units with full capacity. The supply has not been regulated in the last three days. In case the shortage continues, it may hamper power generation and lead to load shedding.
