Coal India Limited’s (CIL) subsidiary, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), is set to cross its production target of 119 mt for the current fiscal year 2021-22.
The company produced 567,000 tonne of the dry fuel on March 1, 2022, the highest single-day count since itsinception. Its total output in 2021-22 so far stood at 110.5 mt, up by six per cent on year-on-year basis. Three projects, namely Jayant, Jhingurda, and Kakri, have achieved their annual coal production target for 2021-22. Of its capital expenditure target of Rs 16.40 billion in the current year, the company has already spent Rs 14.98 billion.
