Sterlite Power secures Rs 4.40 billion funding from Tata Cleantech for transmission project

Sterlite Power Transmission Limited has achieved financial closure forits Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon Transmission Limited (NBTL) project, securing the entire debt funding of Rs 4.40 billion from Tata Cleantech Capital Limited.

The financial closure has been achieved within two months of the special purpose vehicle (SPV) acquisition of the project. In December 2021, Sterlite Power acquired the NBTL SPV to execute the inter-state transmission system project. The project involves construction of 300 cktkm of transmission lines and a greenfield substation with 320 MVA transformation capacity across the north-eastern terrain of Assam and Meghalaya.The NBTL project will transmit over 1,000 MW power from Assam to western parts of Meghalaya.
