Representatives from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Mitsui and Company India Private Limited interacted with officers of Industries and Commerce, Assam Industrial Development Corporation Limited (AIDC), Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (AIIDC), APDCL, Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises-Development Institute (MSME-DI) at Udyog Bhawan in Guwahati. During the interaction, JBIC acknowledged that it has mobilised $7.8 billion for Indian operations for the financial year 2020-21. JBIC is also interested in giving loans to Indian companies and public private enterprises that have a minimum of 10 per cent equity holding by a Japanese company. JBIC is also open to lending to ventures along with other co-financers to entities that buy Japanese equipments.
