Nagaland government signs PPA with Halo Energie for solar power project

The Government of Nagaland has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a private company, Halo Energie Private Limited, for setting a greenfield solar power project.

The 20 MW project will be set up in Dimapur district of the state and it is estimated to cost around Rs 1.2 billion. Nagaland government would provide the 100 acres of land on lease for 25 years. The project envisages to generate solar power close to 28 MU per year, and will be a stepping stone for the state government in fulfilling the renewable purchase obligations compliance. The initial land survey and design process have started and the execution of the project is scheduled to start in mid 2022 and will take around eight months to commission.
