Nepal has commissioned four high voltage projects across the country. The commissioned substations include the 220 kV New Khimti power substation, 132 kV Nawalpur substation in Sarlahi, 220 kV New Butwal substation and the 132 kV Motipur substation.
The Gongar–New Khimti transmission line has brought power generated by the 456 MW Upper Tamakoshi hydropower project to the New Khimti substation. Similarly, power generated by independent power producers (IPPs) along the Likhu Khola corridor has been connected to the New Khimti substation. The substation is also linked to Dhanusha’s Dhalkebar substation
