Total outstanding dues owed by discoms to power producers have increased by 17.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,232.44 billion in April 2022.
According to PRAAPTI portal, discoms owed a total of Rs 1,050.29 billion to power generation firms in April 2021.In April 2022, the total overdue amount, which was not cleared even after 45 days of grace period offered by generators, stood at Rs 1,048.85 billion as against Rs 843.76 billion in the same month a year ago.
