At present, there is a shortfall of 1,000-1,500 MW in power demand and supply during peak hours owing to the sweltering heat and coal shortage.The state’s power demand has increased by 8.2 per cent to 28,589 MW compared to last year and is expected to reach 30,000 MW in the next few weeks.
