Mitsubishi and Meralco launch clean energy infra for EVs in the Philippines

Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) have launched a clean energy infrastructure that will enable electric vehicles (EV) to supply energy to residential buildings.

The Dendo Drive Station piloted at the Mitsubishi dealershipis a sustainable energy ecosystem that was launched in Pasay City and includes facilities and technology provided by Meralco subsidiaries eSakay, Spectrum, and Meralco Energy Incorporated (MServ). The system will use solar panels and vehicle-to-home (V2H) equipment with bi-directional chargers which allows for solar-powered charging of EVs or plug-in hybrid EVs (PHEVs) at home as well as supply electricity generated from the vehicles to power a building. For the pilot station, Spectrum installed 28 kWp solar panels and the net-metering program, eSakay supplied two EV charging pods, and MServ oversaw the electrical works and system integration.
