Green Infra Wind Energy Limited (GIWEL), promoted and owned by Sembcorp Green Infra Limited,has won Railway Energy Management Company Limited’s (REMCL) auction for 50 MW of wind power.
The capacity was awarded following a tariff-based bidding process to meet the energy needs of railways for traction in the state of Maharashtra. Sembcorp was awarded the entire 50 MW capacity ata tariff of Rs 3.11 per kWh. Tunga Renewable Energy Private Limited quoted a tariff of Rs 3.38 per kWh, while Adani Renewable Energy Limited quoted a tariff of Rs 3.36 per kWh. Azure Power India Limited and TEQ Green Power IX Private Limited were two other companies that participated in the auction.
