Odisha seeks central funds for pump storage plants

The state government of Odisha has sought viability gap funding (VGF)for promotion of hydropower pump storage plant (PSP)..

A committee set up by the Union power ministry to look into the demand is likelyto give its report within three months.Odisha has projected an investment of Rs 30 billion for three such plants and sought 75 per cent funds from the centre. The state intends to set up the plants in Upper Indravati (600 MW), Balimela (500 MW) and Upper Kolab (320 MW).
