The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) hasissued a suo-moto order on transmission corridor allocation among power exchanges for collective transactions in dayahead market (DAM).
The Commission notes thatthe priority allocation of 10 per cent in the constrained corridor in favor of Power Exchange India Limited(PXIL) was a temporary measure, which has continued since April, 2016. The PXIL has not been able to effectively utilise the facility of priority allocation transmission corridor in DAM. Now that the third power exchange is likely to commence its operations soon, the commission has directed that the allocation of transmission corridor among the power exchangesbe based on principles listed in the order. The principles of transmission corridor allocation among power exchanges will be effective from June 1, 2022 and priority allocation of 10 per cent in the constrained corridor in favor of PXIL shall standsuperseded.The commission has directedthe national load despatch centre to incorporate the directions suitably in the detailed procedure for scheduling of collective transactions in DAM and real time market.
