PGCIL acquires Khetri-Narela Transmission under TBCB route

Pursuant to its selection as the successful bidder under tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has acquired 100 per cent equity of Khetri-Narela Transmission Limited (KNTL) for an aggregate value of around Rs 225million.

KNTL is a project special purpose vehicle (SPV) to establish transmission system for Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for Evacuation of Power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-G, on build, own, operate and maintain basis from the bid process coordinator – PFC Consulting Limited. The transmission system comprises establishment of a new 765/400 kV substation at Narela, substation extension works at Khetri and two 765kV D/C transmission lines traversing in the states of Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. The transmission system is an inter state transmission system project and is to be completed in 18 months.
