Uttarakhand Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for the development of new and renewable energy projects in the state.
The MoU would help in growth of renewable energy sector especially solar energy in the state.Along with the economic development, the demand for energy in industries and the domestic sector is increasingin the state.The state government is aiming to make Uttarakhand an energy surplus state.
