Greenko to supply green power to ArcelorMittal, Ayana Renewable andthree states

Greenko Group will supply green power to ArcelorMittal, Ayana Renewable Power Private Limited and discoms in Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Bihar from its 5,230 MW renewable energy plant, which recently commenced construction..

The plant,being set up inthe Kurnool district of Andhra Pradeshat a cost of USD3 billion, is the world’s largest renewable energy storage project. Out of 5,230 MW, 3,000 MW is solar, 550 MW wind and 1,680 MW is pump storage capacity. ArcelorMittal has made an investment of around USD600 million for 1,000 MW capacity of the project.The daily storage capacity of the project will be 10,800 MW.The power will be supplied out of 1,680 MW storage capacity. ArcelorMittal will take away 250 MW for its plant operated by joint venture company AMNS India at Hazira, Gujarat; Ayana Renewable Power will get 550 MW; and the rest will be supplied to the discoms in the three states. Most of the power purchase agreements (PPAs) have been signed for supply of green power.Once operational,the project will help avoid 15 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.The project is expected to be commissioned by 2023.
