The Tripura government has adopted the Tripura Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2022 to promote EVs and curb vehicular pollution and save fuel.
Tripura is the 15th state in the country and third in the northeastern region after Assam and Meghalaya to adopt the EV policy. Under the policy, the stategovernment has targeted to convert 60,000 vehicles, which includes at least 42,000 two-wheelers, 10,000 three-wheelers, 7,500 four-wheelers and 500 buses into electrically operated vehicles by 2027.
