Vedanta Aluminium scores a hat-trick at the 11th edition of Fly Ash Utilisation Conference Expo Awards

Vedanta Aluminium has scored a hat-trick of awards at the 11th edition of the Fly Ash Utilisation Conference Expo Awards, presented by the Mission Energy Foundation, for efficient management of fly ash. Vedanta’s power plants at Jharsuguda (Odisha) won in the >=500 MW and <=500 MW categories respectively. Vedanta supplies fly ash from its Jharsuguda and BALCO plants to the cement industry for production of low-carbon green cement. Vedanta Aluminium is also working with hundreds of local brick manufacturing micro, small and medium enterprises close to its operations in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, helping them transition away from mud bricks. Bricks made of fly ash are not only lighter and stronger than traditional clay bricks, but also play a crucial role in preserving nutrient-rich topsoil from being used as raw material. The company has also entered into a long-term partnership with the National Highways Authority of India for building greener roads with fly ash in Odisha.
