Tata Power Solar commissions 450 MW DC solar plant for Brookfield Renewable India in Rajasthan

Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Company Limited, has commissioned a 450 MW DC capacity solar plant for Brookfield Renewable India near Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

The installation entails setting up of over 800,000 modules and was completed within record period of 7 months. The project will produce over 800 GWh of clean energy annually and will help avoid up to 600,000 tons of annual CO2 emissions. The project has been developed under a strategic partnership between Brookfield Renewable and Axis Energy Ventures India Private Limited. Tata Power Solar Systems was the construction partner, with HSBC India and Axis Bank as the financing partners. Reportedly, the company has inked a 25-year power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited, which will sell electricity to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited and Puducherry Electricity Department.
