Goa Cabinet approves Rs 16 billion for power infrastructure upgradation

The state cabinet of Goa has granted approval for spending over Rs 16 billion, including central fund to reduce power loss and boost Goa’s power infrastructure.

Of this, the state government will spend over Rs 7 billion for power loss reduction, over Rs 4 billion for modernisation and over Rs 4.50 billion for installing 700,000 smart meters. The state cabinet granted approval to the electricity department’s action plan and detail project report for availing funds under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) with anticipatory budgetary support of over Rs 7.50 billion from the central government.
