West Bengal to procure 100 MW of RTC renewable hybrid power

The West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (WBERC) has approved a power purchase agreement (PSA) between the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the procurement of 100 MW of wind-solar hybrid power on a round-the-clock (RTC) basis at Rs 2.90 per kWh, plus a trading margin of Rs 0.07 per kWh.

The Commission has instructed WBSEDCL to investigate all options for utilising surplus contracted conventional energy in order to reduce the burden of power purchase costs on consumers. WBSEDCL had filed a petition seeking approval of the PSA.
