PTC India completes consulting assignment for HPCL

PTC India Limited has completed a consulting assignment for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (HPCL) Visakh Refinery Modernisation Project.

HPCL plans to expand the refining capacity from 8.5 million tonne per annum (mtpa) to 15 mtpa under the project. To facilitate the new units, for a reliable grid power supply at 220kV level, HPCL intends to evacuate 220kV power supply from the nearest grid pooling substation at Kalapaka, Andhra Pradesh. PTC has completed the transmission and gas insulated switchgear system consulting assignment for HPCL. PTC was involved in this project since conceptualisation, carrying out the feasibility study, detailed engineering and estimation, package designing, bid process management and subsequently providing project management advisory services to HPCL.

PTC along with its consortium partner, WAPCOS have jointly taken up project management consultant works, and it is involved in the supervision of survey works, detailed engineering, drawing review and approvals, inspection of equipment/material and issuing dispatch clearances, supervision and certification of work execution including electrical and civil works, testing and commissioning activities etc. PTC team had continuously engaged with the forest, revenue, railways, HPCL and Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTRANSCO) officials for expediting the approval process and had recommended various suggestions to speed up the same.
