Power consumption in the country has increased by 17.2 per cent year-on-year from 114.48 billion units (BU) in June 2021 to 134.13 BUs in June 2022, amid severe heat and spurt in economic activities.
The peak power demand met during June 2022 remained at an all-time high of 209.80 GW on June 8, 2022. Meanwhile, the peak power supply stood at 191.24 GW in June 2021, and 164.98 GW in June 2020.
