JERC hikes power tariff for one slab after three years in Chandigarh

The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) has hiked power tariff in 0-150 kWh slab for domestic consumers category from existing Rs 2.50 per unit to revised tariff of Rs 2.75 per unit in Chandigarh from July 1, 2022.

The tariff will remain same in the other slabs of domestic, commercial and industrial categories. The last increase in the domestic and commercial electricity tariff was in 2018-19. In 2021, JERC had reduced power tariff by around 9.58 per cent in Chandigarh.
