810 EV charging stations to be set up CESL across 16 highways and expressways across India

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) plans to establish 810 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across 16 highways and expressways covering 10,275 kilometers across India.

CESL has discovered prices for these EV charging stations. The selected corridors include Mumbai-Pune highway, Ahmedabad-Vadodara Highway, Delhi-Agra Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Hyderabad ORR Expressway, and Agra-Nagpur Highway. The charging stations are expected to be setup in 6-8 months. CESL will use service procurement model and public private partnership. CESL will install 590 chargers of 50kW capacity and 220 chargers of higher 100kW capacity. 50kW and 100kW chargers will be set up at equidistant stretches of 25 kilometres and 100 kilometres respectively, open to both public and private vehicles.
