NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary company of NHPC Limited, and the Government of Rajasthan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of ultra mega renewable energy power park in Rajasthan.
The MoU provides a framework under which parties may collaborate and cooperate for setting up of 10 GW renewable energy parks/projects at sites identified inside Rajasthan, by optimum utilisation of resources and knowledge base of both parties. As per the MoU, renewable energy projects will be developed either on engineering, procurement, and construction or developer mode by NHPC REL. In a separate development, NHPC Limited has signed an MoU with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for setting up of giga watt scale vertically integrated solar manufacturing unit.
