Amalgamation of NPGCL and KBUNL with NTPC completed

NTPC Limited has announced the merger of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Nabinagar Power Generating Company Limited (NPGCL) and Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL) with itself.

Notably, NPGCL was incorporated as a 50:50 joint venture company of NTPC and Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL). The company operates the 1,980 MW Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project (TPP) in Aurangabad, Bihar. Meanwhile, KBUNL owns and operates Muzaffarpur TPP situated at Kanti, district Muzaffarpur, Bihar. In another development, the board of NTPC has accorded investment approval for Talcher TPP, Stage-III (2×660 MW) at an appraised current estimated cost of Rs 118.44 billion.
