SJVN Limited has evinced interest to develop 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects in Punjab.
SJVN has proposed to develop 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects through solar energy projects, canal top solar projects and floating solar projects across the state by way of joint ventures formation and memoranda of understand . Currently, SJVN is developing a 100 MW solar power project in Punjab with an outlay of Rs 5.45 billion. The power purchase agreement for the project was signed with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). The project will generate 245.28 million units (MUs) in the first year, while the cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be around 5,643.52 MU.
