Egypt’s Elsewedy Electric signs new contracts worth EGP1.1 billion with EETC

Egyptian electrical company Elsewedy Electric Co S.A.E has recently announced that its subsidiary Elsewedy Electric for Trading and Distribution has signed two new contracts worth EGP1.1 billion with the state-owned utility, Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC).

The first contract is valued at EGP533.30 million and entails the construction of the 220/66/22 kV El Khamael gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation with a capacity of 725 MVA (3×175+5×40). The second contract, valued at EGP566.80 million, entails the development of a transformer station in the Al-Hammam area in Marsa Matrouh’s governorate on a turnkey basis. The two projects are set to be carried out within the next 12 months from the date of their signing.
