Sembcorp awards a new order of 180.6 MW to Suzlon

Suzlon Group has announced a new order win for the development of a 180.6 MW wind power project for Sembcorp’s renewables subsidiary, Green Infra Wind Energy Limited.

The project is located in Kanakagiribad, Bagalkot, Karnataka. Suzlon will install 86 wind turbine generators with a hybrid lattice tubular tower and a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each. Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and execute the project including erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services post commissioning. The order is part of the bid won under the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) tranche XI auctions by Sembcorp, which has operations spread across seven states in India. A project of this size can provide electricity to around 101,000 households and curb about 407,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2024.
