DBM allocates PHP2.2 billion for energy projects in the Philippines

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has allocated a budget of PHP2.2 billion to the Department of Energy (DOE) for the implementation of energy projects during 2023.

The funding would be used for energy programs including the Total Electrification Project (TEP), Renewable Energy Development Program, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program, and Alternative Fuels and Technologies Program. Out of the total allocation, around PHP500 million will be used to power around 10,000 households in the Philippines under the TEP; while another PHP476 million will be used to fund DOE’s Renewable Energy Development Program, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program, and Alternative Fuels and Technologies Program. These projects are crucial to attain the Government of Philippines’ goal of ensuring reliable and affordable energy throughout the country.
