The state cabinet of Goa has granted approval to purchase 50 MW renewable power per annum at the rate of Rs 5.1 per unit from Arunachal Pradesh Power Corporation Private Limited (APPCPL) for the period November 1, 2022 to October 31, 2026 to meet the solar renewable purchase obligation.
The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) has notified the regulations of JERC (Procurement of Renewable energy) Regulations, 2010. In accordance with Regulation 1 of the aforementioned regulations, each distribution licensee has to purchase electricity from renewable energy sources, at a defined minimum percentage of the total consumption of all the consumers in its area during a year.
