The Punjab government has extended the deadline to apply for electricity load enhancement on tube wells under the voluntary disclosure scheme (VDS) till October 23, 2022.
This is for the second time that the state government extended the deadline. The VDS scheme was launched on June 10, 2022 for 45 days and the fee for load enhancement was slashed from Rs 4,750 to Rs 2,500 per bhp. On July 23, 2022 the government had extended the scheme till September 15, 2022. As of now 170,000 farmers saved Rs 1.60 billion by availing the benefit of this scheme.
