Tata Power has announced plans to scale the initiative of high-floor substation and multi-floor metering to four to five locations in Mumbai soon.
The areas with highrises where such substations will come up are in Worli in the island city and at Borivli, Andheri, Dahisar and Malad in the suburbs. The project will be carried out with multi floor metering with mini feeder pillars on every fifth floor of the building. Besides, there will be consumer metering on individual floors. This unique design of multi-floor metering has benefits of reduction in electricity losses, space optimisation and optimum voltage profile at the consumer end.
