1,000 MW solar power project to be set-up in Assam

The Assam government has announced that a 1,000 MW solar energy project will be built in Dima Hasao district of the state.

The Skill Development Centre will provide the skilled staff needed to work on such a large-scale project. The state government has inaugurated the Integrated Skill Development Centre in Ardha space, Diyungbra’s Dima Hasao area, which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 366 million. Assam is looking to augment its solar power generation capacity by 2,000 MW at an investment of around Rs 100 billion within the next three-four years. In August 2022, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) joined hands with NLC India Limited to produce 1,000 MW solar power at an investment of Rs 55 billion.
