CPCB plans to subsidise pellet manufacturing for green fuel

In order to promote manufacturing of biomass pellets or briquettes for use in co-firing with coal in thermal power plants and even independently in industrial units utilising fossil fuel, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has chalked out a plan to provide subsidy to producers.

The CPCB has planned a fund of Rs 500 million to be offered as subsidy to producers in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to make a push for pellet manufacturing.
