SJVN unit and Assam discom to form JV to set up 1,000 MW floating solar projects

SJVN Limited’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited, and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) have inked a pact to form a joint venture (JV) to set up 1,000 MW floating solar projects in Assam.

The project will be spread over 4,500 hectares of water area. The project will generate 2,192 million units (MUs) in the first year after commissioning, and around 50,425 MUs cumulative energy will be generated over 25 years. An investment of Rs 60 billion will be made by SJVN in the state for developing the project. Carbon emissions reduction to the tune of 107,383 tonnes in the first year and 2,470,732 tonnes during the complete life span will be achieved from this project.
