OERC issues revised draft Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters Regulations, 2022

The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) has issued the revised draft Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM) and Related Matters Regulations, 2022 in view of the new DSM Regulations, 2022 issued by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) in March 2022.

The objective of these regulations is to ensure, through a commercial mechanism, that users of the grid do not deviate from and adhere to their schedule of drawal and injection of electricity for the security and stability of the grid.The regulations will apply to sellers and buyers involved in the transcation of electricity using intra-state transmission or distribution system facilitated through short-term open access, medium-term open access, or long-term access. The regulations will apply to all sellers with an installed generating capacity of 1 MW and above and scheduling their power through the state load despatch centre (SLDC). The DSM will also apply to all buyers, including distribution licensees, and consumers connected to the intra-state transmission system.
