Delhi airport operator to deploy EVs to reduce emissions

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has deployed 57 electric vehicles (EVs) with an aim to reduce carbon emissions in the airport ecosystem.

DIAL has initiated the use of EVs with an aim to replace all diesel and petrol-run vehicles in a phased manner. In the first phase, DIAL has placed the order for 64 EVs for its airside and landside operations. Of these, DIAL has received 57 EVs and deployed them on the airside and landside. Out of the 57 EVs, 21 are being deployed on the airside. Seven more EVs would be deployed soon. Notably, the airport aims to become a net zero carbon emission airport by 2030.
