The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines will conduct the second round of its Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) in June 2023.
The agency is currently reviewing results from the first round to prepare for the initial task and activities for the second round of the auction. Additionally, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is also working on setting the green energy auction reserve (GEAR) prices for round two, which will include different tariffs for various technologies including floating solar, ground-mounted solar, roof-mounted solar, onshore and offshore wind, among others. In June 2022, the DOE awarded 19 bids under the first round, generating nearly 2,000 MW of renewable energy capacities to be delivered between 2023 and 2025.
