Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully installed and energised a new 150 MVA 330/132/33 kV interbus transformer at the Delta IV transmission substation in Ughelli, Delta State.
With this, more power can be wheeled by TCN for Benin Energy Distribution Company (BEDC) and distributed to electricity users in Ughelli, Warri, and the surrounding areas. The substation’s flexibility has been restored with the installation of the new interbus transformer, which allows TCN to withdraw power from Transcorp Power Limited at both 132 kV and 330 kV voltage levels. This will aid in increasing the bulk power transmitted through the substation and improve grid stability.
